Gerard Hopfgartner
University of Geneva, , Switzerland
- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
Gérard Hopfgartner studied chemistry at the University of Geneva and received his Ph.D. degree in 1991 in the field of organic geochemistry and mass spectrometry. He pursued his formation as a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University in the domain of atmospheric pressure ionisation LC-MS/MS. Then in 1992 he joined the Pharmacokinetic and Drug Metabolism Department of F.Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel where he become in 1999 scientific expert and head of the bioanalytical section. He moved in 2002 to the University of Geneva where he is full Professor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and director of the mass spectrometric platform of the Sciences Faculty. His scientific interests include the application and the development of novel mass spectrometry approaches in the field of life sciences, in particular in hyphenation with separation sciences, drug metabolism, metabolomics, analytical proteomics, bioanalysis and toxicology. Beside is involvement as Editor in Journal of Chromatography B he is also president of the Division Analytical Sciences of the Swiss Chemical Society.
