Mohd Marsin Sanagi is currently Dean of Research, Nanotechnology Research Alliance and Professor of Analytical Chemistry, Department of Chemistry at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia where he supervises a research group investigating separation science. Professor Sanagi is a Fellow of Institute of Chemistry and Associate of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. He is a graduate of Macalester College, an MSc graduate of University of Iowa, USA, and a PhD graduate of Loughborough University, UK. He has published over 60 research papers and 3 books and has given numerous external lectures and research presentations mainly on microextraction methods combined with HPLC, GC and CE. A recipient of a number of awards for research inventions, his most recent research programs focussed on the application of functionalized mesoporous materials and nanomaterials for microextractions and subcritical water extraction methods. He has also served as an editorial board member of the Malaysian Journal of Analytical Sciences.
