David Collins

Dr. David Collins is a post-doctoral researcher with the Irish Separation Science Cluster (ISSC) based at Dublin City University, Ireland. He received his B.Eng in Electromechanical Engineering from DCU in 2000 and later completed his part-time M.Eng degree on laser based surface metrology in 2005. In 2009 he joined the ISSC under the mentorship of Prof. Brett Paull to study for a PhD in Chemistry which he completed in 2013.
David’s background is varied, with extensive experience in the Aerospace and Pharma sectors, and prior to joining the ISSC he ran a successful engineering company providing mechanical, electrical, and control system design services to the Pharma and Medical Device industry.
David is heavily involved in multidisciplinary research within the group, particularly in the area of analytical instrumentation and his work has been recognised with prestigious awards from both the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Society of Chemical Industry.
