Separation scientists continue to search for new ways to improve efficiency in the quest for higher resolution, greater throughput and increased sensitivity in their chromatographic analyses. This quest is why Waters developed and introduced UltraPerformance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC®), a breakthrough technology for maximizing these attributes. UPLC is based on harnessing the efficiency and resolving power of sub-2-µm particles. For the past nine years, Waters has expanded its sub-2-µm particle column family from one particle and chemistry (BEH C18) to three complementary particles (BEH , HSS, CSH) and 14 stationary phases designed to exceed our customer’s stringent demands for maximum performance, versatility and flexibility.
Responding to customer needs for continued improvements in resolution and throughput, Waters proudly introduces CORTECS™ Columns featuring 1.6 µm solid-core particle technology.
During this presentation:
1. We will illustrate the impact of combining optimized solid-core particle design with state-of-the-art column packing technology.
2. We will separate fact from fiction and accurately describe the science behind higher efficiencies of CORTECS Columns and demonstrate how this improved performance can be logically designed into a modern UPLC column product.
3. We will then take this one step further and show how we combined these particle and column innovations with novel bonded phases, thus enabling even greater peak capacities, analyte loadability and sensitivity for a diverse range of analytes. Diverse applications for this new column technology will be highlighted.
