A Micellar Liquid Chromatography method for the simultaneous determination of the three selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) citalopram, fluoxetine, paroxetine in pharmaceutical preparation and serum was developed. The experimental procedure was carried out using a c18 column and the optimum mobile phase was 0.075 M SDS, 6% pentanol at pH 7 with flow-rate 1 ml/min. The fluorescence detection for the SSRI’s was taken according to their maximum absorbance and emmission. Using this MLC procedure, calibration was linear (r>0.999) and limit of detection and limit of quantification (ng/ml) were 0.09, 0.06 and 0.09 and 0.5, 0.18 and 0.25 for fluoxetine, paroxetine and citalopram respectively. The developed method can be used for the QC labs and can also be applied for analysis of serum and urine samples from SSRI-exposed patients and forensic cases.
