Peter Schoenmakers obtained a Masters Degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University of Delft, The Netherlands and performed his PhD research with Professor Leo de Galan and Professor Barry Karger. He worked for Philips in Eindhoven (NL) and for Shell in Amsterdam (NL) and Houston (TX), before becoming a part-time professor in Polymer Analysis at the University of Amsterdam. Since 2002 he is a full-time professor in Analytical Chemistry. His current research focus is on comprehensive two-dimensional (liquid) chromatography and on applications of analytical chemistry in forensic science. Peter Schoenmakers is editor of the Journal of Chromatography A. He organized the other HPLC meeting in 2013 (HPLC2013 Amsterdam).
